YES Leadership Program
“This was one of
the best experiences of my life!”
Possessing excellent decision-making and interpersonal communication skills is often the key to success. The Youth EmployAbility Services (YES) Leadership Program can help you build self-confidence and sense of worth, improve your dealings with friends and family, and develop life and work skills that enable you to be a successful student and job candidate. These goals are achieved by participating in hands-on leadership experiences such as mentoring, volunteering, and service-learning.
The YES Leadership program is a partnership between Utah State University Extension Services and
the Youth and Families with Promise program.
Teamwork and having fun are at the heart of the Leadership Program. You will work closely with other YES program participants as well as other youth groups in the community. Through the YES Leadership Program, you will also have many opportunities to get to know a diverse group of people across the community, even around the state. Some of the exciting and fun activities you might be involved in include volunteering, leadership training workshops, community building activities, and meeting various professionals and visiting places of employment to learn about careers.
While participating in the YES Leadership Program you will have the opportunity to participate in the YES Certificate Program.
As a participant in the YES Leadership Program, you may be eligible
for the Presidential Freedom Scholarship and Student Service Award, as well as other scholarships to
pay for college and vocational training expenses.
