YES Certificate Program

The YES Certificate Program offers youth an opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities, which encourages a well-rounded approach to building work and life skills. Youth are not required to participate in the Certificate Program, but receive added incentives for doing so. Participation in the program will help ensure positive personal and program success. Youth will plan activities in each area with their case manager and work together to achieve their goals

Portfolio

Youth will have the opportunity to create a portfolio to include and record their program experiences and participation. Portfolios often include resumes, photos, letters of recommendation, examples of their work and certificates of accomplishment. The finished portfolios are submitted for approval and graduation from the YES Certificate Program.

Leadership

40 Hour leadership/volunteer experiences selected from the following list or other leadership activities that are approved with your case manager:

• One on One Mentoring
• Group Mentoring
• YES Youth Leadership Council
• Workshops and Conferences
• Health Care Workshops
• Individualized Volunteer Opportunities

Internship/Job Search

40 Hours Internship/Job Search activities selected from the following list:

• Portfolio Training
• Self Assessment Test- career areas and interests
• Labor Market Inquiry
• Complete Job Application
• Mock Interview
• Career Fairs
• Job Shadows
• Internship/work site learning experience located at a local business
• Job Searching Activities (as approved by your case manager)
• JOBLink Activities
• Career related workshops/conferences

Training

Complete at least one of the following:

• GED Completion
• High School Diploma
• Associates Degree/Complete 2 semesters with GPA 2.75+
• Short Term Training with certificate

Employment

Client should complete at least 3 months steady employment. Bonuses are also offered during follow up for 6 and 9-month job retention.
